CDawgVA's Charity Auction
CDawgVA’s Charity Auction was hosted in efforts of raising money for the Immune Deficiency Foundation. The event peaked at 80,728 viewers and raised over $516,000. Like his events previously, Connor wanted people to bid off of items donated by other streamers. The audience also comprised of mostly streamers and internet personalities.
In this production, we made use of 5 different cameras; 4 of which were PTZ cameras, and 1 handheld. 2 PTZs were placed in the back facing the stage, and 2 on opposite sides of Connor facing the audience. Two of the other cameras were handheld. All the angles here are from my PTZ cameras.
My responsibilities for this event are similar as for my other OffBrand shows. Setup and operate the PTZs. The two PTZs in the back were stage heavy and required tracking. One tracked Connor throughout the show and was done by our Director of Photography, the other stage camera focused on wide shots and the bidding item.
This particular image utilizes my PTZ on stage left. Ironmouse is on the monitor, behind Ludwig, QTCinderella, and DougDoug. Ludwig provided comedic banter and was focused on a few times throughout the show.
This image is an example of a close up on an auctioned off item. The setup utilizes the full mechanical zoom on AW-UE160 PTZ and about 10x more digital zoom beyond that.
Connor spun a punishment wheel and landed on eating this sandwhich. Point Crow joined in, which led to this image here.
This shot was all tracked on my PTZ dedicated for auction items. To create the smoothest shot possible in the moment, I tried limiting my panning movement and focused on zooming. Wobbles and jitters can be very noticeable in this setup if not dealt with accordingly.
These shots show the representatives from the IDF charity.
A brief sanding ovation after they enter the stage.
Final group hugs and a send off!
